INFORMATION FOR WALL DECALS

Please be aware that wall decals are not compatible with all surfaces.  Walls painted with newer stain resistant, low VOC, or VOC free paints or highly textured to not take decals!  Check your surface first.  We re not responsible if you purchase decals and your wall is not compatible.  If you are not sure of your surface, request a free test decal and if your test decal does not stick, your larger decal will not stick.  You may return unused stock decals in their original package within 15 days from receipt, but there will be a 25% restocking fee.  We do not refund any shipping charges.  Custom decals may not be returned or refunded.   Vinyl wall decals are intended to be used on clean smooth surfaces. Make sure your walls are clean from dust and fingerprints.  Do not skip this important step as even something as small as dust on the wall may affect how well your decal sticks. Semi-gloss, eggshell, or gloss paint finishes seem to work best, but decals have worked well with other types of paints (exclusive of the types listed above). The key is to work slowly and work with the vinyl – not against it. The vinyl used is a standard in the industry. This vinyl is very thin so as to appear painted on the walls and will tear if you are not careful during installation. Please take your time. The vinyl used to create the wall decals is designed for use on interior wall surfaces. Damage to surface is possible but rare when removing, due to prior condition and age of the surface or applying the decals too soon to freshly painted walls. In the rare event that the material does cause damage upon removal we are not responsible for any damages as we do not manufacture the vinyl material used nor are we responsible for ensuring the condition of the surface used.   If walls are freshly painted, please wait at least 3 weeks before applying decals.  This allows time for the paint to cure.  Wall Vinyl removes easily but is not reusable once installed.

  • If your decal comes rolled in a tube, let it lay flat for a few hours and then burnish decal with squeegee or credit card to get the lumps, bumps and air out.
  • For larger decals, sometimes it is easier to apply them in sections.
  • If your decal has multiple colors, each color will be separate. Apply the base decal first, remove transfer tape & then build around it.
  • The decal is on a paper backing and has clear transfer tape over it. This transfer tape is used to transfer the decal from the backing to the surface you want to apply it to. When you remove the backing, the decal will come off with the clear transfer tape.
  • Using a squeegee (burnisher) or credit card, rub over the clear transfer to tape to ensure decal will transfer.
  • Turn the decal over and slowly peel away the backing paper (wax-like paper). Make sure the design stays on the transfer paper (tape).  If you find the design is sticking to the backing paper, you will need to burnish (Rub) the section doesn’t want to stick until it sticks to the transfer paper (tape).  The turtle wins the race here.
  • When you apply the decal, be sure to hold it with both hands. Static electricity will often attract the decal and cause it to cling to the surface before you are ready to apply the decal. Once the decal is stuck to a surface it is VERY difficult to remove without damaging the decal, so be careful and take your time as you apply it. A second person may be helpful here – depending on the size of the decal.
  • Use a plastic squeegee to apply decals and eliminate air bubbles. A credit card will work too.
  • Apply one side or the top/bottom edge of the decal first, then using the credit card, slowly apply pressure across the decal as you roll it onto the surface.
  • Start at the bottom right corner and remove clear transfer tape by carefully pulling at a 180 angle toward the top left corner. If the design begins to pull up with the transfer tape, it has not been applied firmly enough to your surface.  Using your squeegee (burnisher), go back over the design with firm overlapping strokes & attempt to remove the transfer tape again.  Do not pull out when removing the transfer tape.  Pull directly back & down.
  • As you remove the transfer tape, peel it away SLOWLY. If any part of the decal starts to peel off with the tape, rub the decal again and try re-peeling.
  • Once fully applied, rub the decal into your surface, from the center out. Use burnisher to work out air bubbles.

INFORMATION FOR PERMANENT DECALS

Permanent Vinyl Decals are great for Car Windows, Vehicles, Helmets, Mailboxes, Campers, Doors, Painted Wood, Plastic, Glass, Drinkware and just about anything with a smooth clean surface.    We use a permanent commercial vinyl that has a life expectance of 3 – 5 years and does very well outdoors.  Although it is called permanent, it can be removed with a scraping tool.  Please hand wash all drinkware since the vinyl is not made for the dishwasher.  Permanent Vinyl can cause damage to walls when removed – please order Wall Vinyl for any decals to be used on walls.  Permanent Vinyl colors are glossy.  You may return unused stock decals in their original package within 15 days from receipt, but there will be a 25% restocking fee.  We do not refund any shipping charges.  Custom decals may not be returned or refunded.

INFORMATION FOR TRANSFERS

YOU MUST HAVE A HEAT PRESS IN ORDER TO PRESS THESE TRANSFERS

You will NOT receive a finished product, only the transfer itself.

Questions about what type of transfer you need or what size? Please contact us before ordering.

This transfer is available as a SUBLIMATION Transfer or as a PRINTED Vinyl Transfer.

PRINTED HEAT TRANSFER VINYL TRANSFER:
Printed on commercial printers with Eco-Solvent Inks. They are Cut Out, Weeded and Ready To Press. The carrier sheet is already applied to the design. All you have to do is remove the backing and apply to your shirt. These transfers can be used on any color material – Dark or Light Colors. They adhere to 100% Cotton, Poly/Cotton Blends, 100% Polyester, Lycra/Spandex, Leather, Canvas and more.

SUBLIMATION TRANSFER:
Printed on commercial sublimation printers using high quality Epson inks and commercial paper. These transfers MUST be pressed onto materials that are made for sublimation. Blanks must have a sublimation coating on them and soft goods, such as shirts, must be at least 65% polyester. Anything less than 100% polyester will give you a faded/vintage look. These transfers CAN NOT be used on dark shirts. It will not work!!! We recommend that you use white, light gray or beige.

More Information about the different transfers. If you aren’t sure of the difference, please read before ordering.

PRINTED Heat Transfer Vinyl Transfers:
Transfers are printed on commercial printers with Eco-Solvent Inks.

APPLICATION
*Pre-Heat fabric 3-5 seconds, this will withdraw any moisture that may be in the fabric that could cause the vinyl to peel after washing. Remove backing sheet from your transfer. Leave top carrier sheet in place and secure your design on your blank. Cover with a Teflon sheet or butcher paper or parchment paper. Press for 15 seconds at 315F at Medium/High Pressure. Remove transfer and carrier sheet and discard. I like to place my Teflon sheet back over my design before I remove it from the press and give it another quick 5 second press. Shake out your shirt and you are good to go.

SUBLIMATION Transfers:
We use the highest quality sublimation printers, inks, and paper. They have been tested and proven to provide the best quality prints onto sublimation materials when applied properly. Sublimation ink, when heated, turns into a gas that actually embeds itself into the fibers of blanks made with polyester or blanks that have a polyester coating. Colors will not run or wash out when applied correctly

Sublimation transfers use a specific translucent sublimation ink. Before you press the Sublimation transfer will have a light and faded look. The heat application is what gives you the vibrant colors.

Sublimation is NOT vinyl. When applied correctly, the image actually becomes part of your blank. There will be no feel, no hand, no texture. You will not feel the image and it will not peel or crack.

Sublimation transfers MUST be pressed onto materials that are made for sublimation. Examples include: sublimation coated mugs and tumblers, neoprene goods, 100% polyester soft goods, etc.

Sublimation ink only adheres to the polyester fibers in a material. Using 100% polyester materials will absorb the most ink from the transfer making the image the most vibrant and consistent.
Pressing onto less than 100% white polyester fabric will cause the image to have a vintage or faded look. This is because the ink does not permanently adhere to non-polyester materials and will wash out. Fabric with at least 65% polyester content is recommended and using 100% polyester will give you the best results. Anything less than 100% polyester will give you a faded/vintage look.

The blank you use should be white or very light in color. The image WILL NOT show up on black or dark colors. White, very light gray or beige works best. You can use other light colors, just keep in mind that the colors of the inks in the transfer many appear different once pressed on colored fabric.

White is not a color, it is a void. On these transfers there will not be any actual white printed. If there is white in the design it will become the color of the fabric your apply it to. WHITE does not print with sublimation. The white on your transfer paper is NOT ink, it is the actual paper. Therefore, if there is any white color on the design, it will end up being the color of the material you press it on. For example: If your image has white clouds, pressing on a light pink shirt will give you pink clouds.

Understand that to have a finished product closest to what you see here on the listing you should use white blanks.

Sublimation transfers MUST be heat pressed on the blank using medium to high pressure, 400 degrees. Time is determined by the blank you are using. Consult the instructions provided by your blank supplier. Most T-Shirts are 60 seconds. You CANNOT use an iron or easy press on these transfers.

Sublimation Directions For Shirts

For all other blanks, please follow the instructions provided by your supplier.
Preheat your heat press to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Adjust your press for light/medium pressure.
Lint roll your shirt and prepress your shirt for 5-10 seconds to remove any moisture (lint rolling is important especially if using white shirts to prevent tiny blue dots on your shirt after pressing.)
Use a sheet of butcher/copy/parchment paper in the inside of your shirt to prevent the image bleeding through
Place your transfer printed side down in the location that you want it on your shirt. You can use heat tape or repositionable fabric adhesive spray to keep your transfer from moving. (Only use heat tape!)
Cover the whole shirt with a sheet of butcher or parchment paper and press 400 degrees for 60 seconds
After pressing, remove the top paper and sublimation transfer in one quick move trying not to let the image touch your shirt to prevent ghosting and extra ink getting on your shirt.
Some shirts we recommend: Bella Canvas 3880 in White and light colors, Gildan G420 in White & Sports Gray (these are thin shirts), Jerzees 21M - In white or any other light colors and even Walmart has some 65% and greater polyester shirts you can use.
