I’m Tracey Hilborn, the heart and hands behind Quail Street Designs, and I’m thrilled to welcome you to our little corner of the crafting world. As a proud Texan, I’ve always believed in doing things with a whole lot of heart, and that’s exactly what Quail Street Designs is all about.

After retiring from a long career in the corporate world, I found myself at a crossroads, looking for a new adventure—something that would keep me busy now that my grandsons are all grown up and too cool for Grandma (well, most of the time!)  That’s when I decided to turn my love for crafting into something more—something that would bring joy not just to me, but to others too. And so, Quail Street Designs was born.

This isn’t just a business to me; it’s a passion project filled with creativity, community, and a whole lot of fun.  I’ve always loved making things with my hands, but what I love even more is sharing that experience with others.   One thing I’ve always cherished is the sense of community that crafting brings.  Whether it’s through our in-person painting classes—where strangers come together, laugh, create, and leave as friends—or through our Quilt Block of the Month Club, where crafters like you can connect, create, and be inspired month after month.

Here in Texas, we take pride in what we do, and for me, that means pouring love and creativity into every piece that leaves our workshop. From the first cut of wood to the final brushstroke of paint, everything we create is a labor of love.

One thing I’ve always cherished is the sense of community that crafting brings. Whether it’s through our in-person painting classes, where strangers become fast friends over a shared project, or through the Quilt Block of the Month Club, where a group of creative souls comes together to make something beautiful, it’s all about connection. We’ve had so much fun in our workshops, laughing, creating, and, of course, making new friends, that I wanted to bring that same joy to more people.

That’s why we started the Quilt Block of the Month Club. After seeing how popular our quilt block patterns were in the shop, I thought, why not take it up a notch? We found exclusive new designs that you won’t find in any of our shops and turned them into a monthly surprise that shows up right at your doorstep. It’s like a little gift to yourself—a reminder to slow down, get creative, and enjoy the simple pleasures of making something with your hands.

But more than that, this club is about being part of something special. It’s about joining a community of like-minded crafters who love to create, share, and support one another. I’m not just some faceless company—I’m here, crafting right alongside you, and I can’t wait to see what we’ll create together.

So, whether you’re a seasoned crafter or just dipping your toes into the DIY world, I invite you to join our crafty crew. So come on in, join the club, and let’s create something wonderful together.
